Eye candy

Lookie what arrived on Monday! New goodies from Hawthorne Threads.
I decided to stock up on some new lines before they were gone (they'd already sold out once, but HT restocked quickly), so you'll be seeing most of these in upcoming bags for the Style Stitches challenge.

Also, HT ended up being 1/8 yard short on one of the fabrics I ordered, so they kindly emailed to ask if I could sub it out (which turned out to be no problem), and they sent me an extra remnant on top of my order. I love them!
The three on the left are from Laura Gunn's Magnolia Lane collection, the middle three are from Patricia Bravo (Spanish Petals in Buttercup and Oval Elements in Key Lime and Eggplant), and the ones on the right are from Joel Dewberry's Modern Meadow collection. I can't get enough of that collection! You may have noticed I've already used several of the fabrics from the pink colorway (here, here, and here), as well as the navy herringbone (here). Hmmm...I should have bought more. The piece on the bottom right is the extra remnant. I'm not sure what collection it's from, but it's super cute.

  1. Love the new fabric! I keep putting off buying fabric until I have a project in mind for it. Lame. I should just buy the pretty stuff when I see it. :)

I also love the new site organization! I'll definitely be checking out your inspirations page often! I'm about to make the Kindle cover on Little Birdie Secrets; I'll let you know how it turns out...

  2. Thanks, Heather! I'm actually usually really bad about just buying fabric when I see it, without a particular project in mind, so I wind up with random sizes that aren't necessarily very handy when I do have a project I want to do. This time, I bought yardages specifically for the upcoming Style Stitches bags, so I was proud of myself. :)

Let me know how you like the Kindle cover tutorial. I'm planning on making another one soon (one for my sister) and think I'll try a new method. Good luck!
