WIP Wednesday: New projects!

It's been a while since my last WIP check in, but that doesn't mean things haven't been progressing over here. In case you missed it, I finished my August and September blocks for the do.Good Stitches Emerge circle, my block for Robert Kaufman's Rhoda Ruth Block Challenge, and my big, secret wedding quilt, the Lucky Strikes quilt! Whew.
And while that's all behind me, there's no shortage of projects ahead. First up, I'm finishing my Fancy Fox and Hazel Hedgehog mini from the Elizabeth Hartman workshop I took last weekend. I managed to get the glasses added to one of the foxes and finished the top, so now it's time to get quilting.

(Noticed my little fox in his dad's glasses looks an awful lot like the quilted fox in his glasses)

Once that's wrapped, I think I'll turn my sights back to my long-neglected Washi top. The pattern is cut, the fabric is washed, and now I just need to dive in.
Then, I have two smaller quilt projects to wrap up before moving on to my QuiltCon quilts (which are top secret for now). I'm planning to turn the Vintage Quilt Revival blocks I made at the last QuiltCon into a baby quilt for charity, and I have a simple patchwork dinosaur quilt that's also in the works. It should be nice to have a few quickie projects.

The neverending to do list:
August do.Good Stitches blocks
Rhoda Ruth Block Challenge
September do.Good Stitches blocks
Lucky Strikes wedding quilt
QuiltCon triangle challenge quilt
QuiltCon bonus quilt
Dinosaur patchwork blanket
Vintage Quilt Revival mini sampler quilt
Jewelry travel pouch
Patchwork City sampler quilt
Allie Owl quilt
Menagerie quilt
Hazel Hedgehog quilt
The Kittens quilt
Aviatrix Medallion quilt
Swoon quilt
Spiced Chai quilt (from Vintage Quilt Revival)
Sunset Tiles quilt (from Scraps Inc.)

Re-cover downstairs chair
Clothing for me! (Washi Dress, Sailor Top Shirt, Sorbetto Top)

I'm linking up to WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.

  1. Lots of wonderful projects in works going on at you house! I love the combo of the foxes and heggies. I am working on a fox quilt, are the glasses very difficult? I don't know why I am so nervous about adding a pair of glasses, but I am ! Did you satin stitch around the glasses or just use heat and bond? Thanks for sharing. Heide

    1. Thanks, Heide! The glasses weren't too bad. I used heat and bond and then did a zigzag stitch around, and it worked well. I know that's how EH does hers, too (she said she doesn't like the heavier look of the satin stitch, but that's just a personal preference). Good luck with yours!

  2. Hi! Thanks for posting your Elizabeth Hartman hedgehog and fox. Love the colors you chose. Is it difficult. I'm a beginner. Also, which size pattern are you using?

    1. Thanks! I used the standard Fancy Fox and Hazel Hedgehog patterns (not the II versions). The fox is definitely easier than the hedgehog, but I'd say they're both beginner-level if you just take your time. Good luck!
