WIP Wednesday #27

Happy Wednesday! The remains of Hurricane Isaac rumbled through here this weekend, which meant rain outdoors and perfect sewing conditions indoors. This week was all about quality over quantity. (In case you're new around here, I'm following along with Freshly Pieced's W.I.P. (Work In Progress) Wednesday series as a good way for me (and you) to keep track of what's going on around here.)

Completed this week:
This week, we went from this:

To this:
I must be catching on to this whole quilting thing because I managed to finish this baby in a weekend, which blows my old "record" out of the water. It was also nice to feel like I didn't constantly need to look up tutorials on basting, binding, and the rest.
It's getting dropped in the mail today, and I hope its new little owner loves every last colorful inch of it.
For more details on the fabrics, process, etc., check out the full blog post right here.

Started this week:
Nothing yet. I was just glad to finish the quilt! :) But I'm eyeing those Christmas projects next ... the tree skirt's got my name written all over it.

On the "to do" list (it just keeps growing!):
Early Bird/Kitchen Window quilt
Coasters for the living room
Wall organizer for the office
Christmas tree skirt
Stockings
New pillows for downstairs bed
Coin purse for the car
A few items to spruce up our new stroller
A sheet for Beckett's pea pod mattress
A new bag and mug rug for me
T-shirt quilt

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week. And be sure to click on the button to check out other great WIPs for more inspiration!

  4. I saw your thumbnail on Freshly Pieced and had to click on it! Is that a selvedge quilt? Nope...it's better! I love the directional print for the block centers. I might steal that idea to make a quilt for Home Of Hope...Looks like a quick work-up. Good job.
