WIP Wednesday: October bee blocks and fresh colors

As I mentioned a few days ago, my plans for sewing got sidetracked this weekend by a little illness, but I did manage to squeeze in some time on my handwork project, the Catenary mini quilt, over the weekend.

And I recovered enough on Monday to knock out my October blocks for the Emerge circle of do.Good Stitches. Betsy asked us to make two colorful Antique Tile blocks using the tutorial from Fresh Lemons Moderns Quilts. She wanted bright, cheerful colors with a low volume background. It was nice to dig into my scraps for these.
I also got started on a baby quilt that recently moved up in my to do queue. I pulled this fun color scheme based on the fabric I plan to use for the backing and cut out some large 9" squares that will soon be turned into HSTs. I'm using the Brass Ring pillow pattern (upsized for a baby quilt) from Sew Organized for the Busy Girl.
And at some point I have to take a break from all this fun to make B a Cat in the Hat costume for Halloween. Back to work!

  3. i hope you're feeling better! the curves on the catenary mini are so cute. you've got some great projects going!

(ps - when you link from your phone, it's the mobile version that pops up even on the big computer. if you use the "view web version" button at the bottom of the page, you can still link up the web version to the link party rather than the mobile. not a big deal but i thought i'd share!)

    1. Thanks for the sweet comments, and thanks for letting me know about the mobile view. That's so annoying! This is actually the first time I've ever linked up from my phone, and I had no idea. I wish there was a way to fix it. :/ Anyway, so good to know for next time!

  4. Love that you post your list on the blog. Do you find it helpful for accountability?

    1. Well, I don't strictly hold myself to the list unless it's a project that I "have" to do (many of these are just wish list projects that I hope to find time for), but it definitely helps me stay organized, prioritize my projects, and remember the ideas that really catch my eye.
