Completed/In progress:
On Monday night, I was determined to get something done, so I headed down to my sewing room a little before midnight, and when I went to bed about 2:30, I'd finished the back of my mini quilt for the St. Louis Modern Quilt Guild's Ohio Star Quilt Challenge.
The focus of the backing is the blocks made up of some of my crazy piecing from the Jacquie Gering workshop. After slicing them down, I blocked them in with some white and then floated them in lots of the Kona charcoal gray I used on the front. I was definitely channeling my inner Elizabeth Hartman with this one.
I revealed the top (which I'm calling my Ohio Log Cabin Quilt) last week.
I basted it all last night and hope to start in on the quilting tonight. Home stretch, here I come.
After I get this quilted and bound, I'm planning to take a little break to make myself a Go Anywhere bag. It's time for a new bag for fall. :) And, of course, somewhere in sewing land, I'm still working on my T-shirt quilt and Kitchen Window quilt. Sigh.
On the "to do" list:
Re-covering the downstairs chair
New pillows for the downstairs chairs
Christmas table runner
iPod workout strap
A mug rug for me
Ironing board cover
Another divided basket from the Noodlehead pattern
Reusable snack bags
Living room quilt
Small zipper bag for me

I love this quilt - both front and back!
ReplyDeleteThat's a very OhFransson kinda back! Love it!
ReplyDeleteYes! I actually meant to reference that in the post (added now). I love Elizabeth Hartman. Thank you!
DeleteGreat Back, and Front :-) Can't wait to see it all come together at the meeting.
