At the Easter Vigil service last night, we happily celebrated Beckett's baptism, just a few days shy of his five-month birthday. We had a lot of family join us, which was wonderful — all three sets of grandparents plus Aunt Houdie and his godparents, Aunt Nessie and Uncle Rip — made the trip up.
It was a wonderful weekend to celebrate family and the blessings the Lord has bestowed on us.
We're thankful to have a wonderful church family, too, who were so happy to welcome Beckett into the fold.
The rector of our church, Dan Appleyard, performed the service, and it was wonderful to share the special ceremony with him as well. He visited us in the hospital after Beckett's birth to give him a blessing, so it was nice to have Dan there to help us celebrate the next step in Beckett's (and our) spiritual journey.
A blessing for you, little Beckett, on the occasion of your baptism and this glorious Easter day when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. May this always be true for you:
The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
The Lord lift his countenance upon you and give you peace.
