Our home tour ends in the nursery. You may recall that I made all of the linens for Beckett's nursery back when we were in our old place, but we weren't truly able to give him a complete room of his own until now.
A few months ago, I requested help on choosing the paint colors, and we ended up deciding on a dark teal for the bottom of the room and a very pale blue for the top, both of which were drawn from the colors in his bed linens, made from Dan Stiles's Marine collection. The trim is all white.
In addition to the crib, changing table, and glider that we already had, we re-purposed a bookcase that was previously in our office to house Beckett's books and stuffed animals, and we added a rolling cart to hold some of his diaper accessories.
One of the best things about the new nursery is the artwork. In addition to the mobile and fabric-covered embroidery hoops that I'd already made, we added three new pieces. The first, which is above the changing table, is a print created by our friend Susanne. She originally created it for a bicycle-themed art show last year, but when we saw it, we both loved it, and the oranges matched our linens perfectly. We had it professionally framed, and it looks great.
We purchased the second piece from VillaFigura on Etsy. She has a lot of great prints, but my favorites were the alphabet prints. Each letter is created by pictures of items whose names start with that letter (the "B" includes things like bears, buses, bubbles, buttons, and bathtubs). When I found her shop, she actually hadn't created a "B" print yet, so ours ended up being a special request, which meant we also got to choose which colors to use (she has four color schemes from which you can choose). We also chose to personalize it by adding "is for Beckett" in smaller letters at the bottom.
I love how it turned out, and Anneke was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend her shop. We added the matting and frame.
The last piece is a "my first year" frame with spaces for each of B's monthly pictures. He's a bit of a narcissist and loves looking at the pictures, and it's so fun to see, at a glance, how much he's grown. :)
We're so happy with how it all turned out (and happy that it's finally done)!
So cool to see all of the house pictures! I'm particular excited about that swanky guest suite. :) CAN'T WAIT TO COME VISIT. xoxoxo
