WIP Wednesday #42

Hello again, Wednesday. We had grandparents in town this weekend, so it was a bit of a slow week for sewing, but I managed to get a few things done.

Completed:
Last week, I showed you this set of doll quilts for a friend's daughters, and this week, as promised, I finished a tutorial for them. Hope you like it!
I also previewed this mug rug gift last week, though it looked very different back then. It originally had that orangey-pink binding all the way around, and I knew it just wasn't working, so I asked for your help in selecting a new one.
You came through, and I think the new binding, with just a touch of pink, works great. Thanks again for the input!
You can read lots more about this little beauty in this post.
Finally, I made a new tie tee for little man. This one took some work because I was trying out a new technique using snaps instead of applique, so the tie hangs loose except at the top. (You can see some of my past applique tie shirts here and here.)
I'm so happy with how it turned out, and I'm all ready to start working on several more (and, oh yes, a tutorial, hopefully next week)!
And in case you're interested, the onesie is from H&M (a great resource for affordable organic onesies), and the tie is a favorite fabric of mine, Joel Dewberry's Herringbone in Lake.

In progress:
T-shirt quilt
Quilt for the St. Louis Modern Quilt Guild's Ohio Star Challenge quilt challenge
Kitchen Window quilt

On the "to do" list:
Re-covering the downstairs chair
New pillows for the downstairs chairs
Christmas table runner
iPod workout strap
A mug rug for me
Ironing board cover
Another divided basket from the Noodlehead pattern
Reusable snack bags
Living room quilt
Small zipper bag for me
Baby gifts

This week, I'm linking up to WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced and We Did It Wednesday at Sew Much Ado!

  2. What a great idea for a little man onesie! I would have never thought to look at H&M for baby things. Love the mug rug too - it looks great with the new binding!

    1. Thank you! Unfortunately, not all H&Ms carry baby things (in fact, most don't), but if you have one close by that does, it's a great resource. Their other kids' clothing is super cute, too. Glad you liked the mug rug!
