Matt's mom came for a visit last weekend, and we had a great time. Beckett's wiggled his way out of the stranger anxiety phase, which is a huge relief where grandparents are concerned. They all live out of state and don't get to visit as often as they'd like, so when they did come for a visit, and B cried half the time, it was a bit hard to take.
Now he's happy as a clam to go to anyone and everyone and is just about the smiliest, friendliest little baby you've ever met.On Friday, we enjoyed a tasty afternoon treat at a local coffee shop.
Beckett decided the visit was a good time to learn how to clap. It's his new favorite thing to do.
This year, we chose Eckert's, which had the closest location (important when dealing with a 10-month old). It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time.
Golden delicious and suncrisp apples were ripe for picking, and we (as always) ended up picking a few more than we probably needed. It's so hard to stop! You just keep thinking, "Just one more! This one looks so nice." When all was said and done, we'd picked almost 40 pounds. That's a lot of apples!
We didn't waste any time using some, and Matt treated us to a delicious apple crisp for dessert that night. We also made applesauce for B.
Eckert's also has a fun market for shopping (B was very intrigued by the squash), and B picked up a cute apple sticker that he couldn't quite figure out on his belly.
We finished the trip with a visit to the pumpkins, many of which were as big a B. He was a little unsure about them at first but was clearly interested.
"Mom, there's something on my finger."
Grammy and B were pretty worn out after the busy morning.
The rest of the weekend was spent just hanging out, and it was great to relax and spend time together. B loves his Grammy and can't wait for the next visit!
