My dad and step-mom came for a visit this weekend, and we had a great time. They got a lay of the land for the next time they'll be here (in just a few weeks, for Biscuit's arrival), and we got to show off our fair city.
It was their first visit to St. Louis, so, of course, we started at the Arch.
They wanted to take the tram to the top, but unfortunately, we got there too late the first day, so we came back the next morning. They had a great time and even made some friends at the top.
We'd been up before, so we stayed below. But just for kicks, I tested out the example pod in the lobby. This is what you ride in all 630 feet to the top. Not pleasant.
After lunch and some football (Aggies, how could you fail so badly two weeks in a row?!?), the men got to work assembling Biscuit's crib and changing table while Paula and I headed out for some shopping. We got some great summer items for Biscuit on sale at Dillard's. Score!
On Sunday morning, Matt ran the Mo Cowbell Half Marathon in St. Charles and finished in a personal best 1 hour and 46 minutes. That boy's a runner!
After lunch, we took Dad and Paula to experience their first Ted Drewe's. I think it's safe too say they were not disappointed.
Then, we finished the day with a stroll through Forest Park.
What a great visit!
