Sorry I can't show you more (and for the terrible basement lighting)!
I've also pulled a stack for my next quilt. It began with the red and yellow, then I pulled in some green to keep it from getting too ketchup/mustard (though the hubs joked that the green just added some relish).
I can't tell if I'm in love with it (it's totally not my normal palette), but I think it's got a vibe its recipient will like. I'm planning to pair the colors with the low-volume prints, but I can't decide on a pattern -- maybe a plus quilt like this one or a star quilt like this or this?? I want to go a bit traditional with a modern spin.

I'm linking up to WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.
I, too, find it hard to work on something for someone in their color palette that is not mine. It shakes my confidence a bit but I do find it a refreshing change. Love the ketchup-mustard-relish analogy! Made me laugh. And I do think those fabrics play well together. I find myself wanting to blog about gifts for others but not wanting to give it away. I tell myself to go ahead and draft the blog, just do not post it, but somehow that is not as satisfying. To-do and status lists are helpful to me, also. I tuck them at the end of my post because I do not want to bore my readers. But hey, your list did not bore me. I liked it. It made me feel normal!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see more of the greens and blues. Intriguing so far. I hate my pictures at the moment, too. Too little light etcetera..urgh, winter...
