Snow day = coasters done!

So, in addition to the general enjoyment of having a day off work, the snow day was also perfectly timed to help me finished the coasters I was making for my sister's bridal shower (which took place this weekend and was a smashing success, if I do say so myself). Here's all 20 of them:
Most of them were a different combination of three fabrics on the front, along with a few solid coffee-themed ones that used the scrap fabric from making my sister's Christmas aprons.
And the backs (all single prints):
I was really happy with the way they turned out, and the guests seemed to enjoy them, too!

  1. I saw this on a craft link up. Great job! I made decoupaged tile coasters for Xmas gifts, but I think I'll try your sewing method, too. Thanks!

  2. Lori, thanks so much! I've been wanting to try tile coasters but can't seem to stop sewing them instead! :)

  3. Jessica, these are great. I found you through the Wednesday Sew Much Ado link up. I had to check out your coasters because I've been planning to make some fabric ones - but the ones I saw were glued. These look so much better! Did you use anything in the middle of these? Now I'm really looking forward to making some! ~Lori

  4. Two Lori's on one post! Second Lori -- I use cotton flannel for my lining. It's thinner than quilt batting, and I usually just stock up on white or cream colored flannel when it's on sale. Works like a charm! I assembled them using the same method I used for the runner found in this post: http://ablueskykindoflife.blogspot.com/2011/01/pinks-new-pink.html.
