WIP Wednesday #48

Yep, it's Wednesday again (somehow). This weekend got whittled away with lots of football and family time. I'm not complaining, but these projects have got to start moving a bit faster...

Completed:
Last night, I finished the quilt top for the hub's Comma wall quilt project. Woohoo! I stayed up until 3 am (stupid!), but it's done. A few sneak peeks:
I almost finished the backing as well. Because this is another wall hanging, I decided not to use much time on the back. I need to add another strip along the bottom and side, and it'll be done. Then, on to basting, quilting, and binding.

I also fixed the hanging method for my Ohio Log Cabin mini quilt. I originally made a strap to hang it, but the quilt kept caving in in the middle and then the strain from the strap on the command hooks pulled them from the wall. Boo.
So I overcame my fear/hatred of hand sewing and added corner sleeves to the back. (Like the scrap fabric that totally doesn't match? Eh, you won't see it anyway.) Insert a dowel rod, and now it looks so much better.

In progress:
The pieces for my Go Anywhere bag and coordinating open-wide zippered pouch look just like they did last week. I'm on this as soon as I finish the Comma quilt.
And, of course, somewhere in sewing land, I'm still working on my T-shirt quilt and Kitchen Window quilt. Sigh.

On the "to do" list:
B's Halloween costume
Waterfront Park quilt
Baby quilt
Kindle cover for my sister
Pillows for the STLMQG Pillow Bomb Project
New tie for B
Kitchen dish towels
Superhero cape for B
Re-covering the downstairs chair
New pillows for the downstairs chairs
Christmas table runner
iPod workout strap
A mug rug for me
Ironing board cover
Another divided basket from the Noodlehead pattern
Reusable snack bags
Living room quilt
Washi dress

  2. That's a great technique for hanging a quilt - definitely saving it for future use! Good luck finishing up the comma wall hanging!

    1. Thank you! Yep, it seems to be working well and was a bit less work than doing a normal sleeve We'll see!
