Beckett's six-month update

Beckett, you're six months old today!
You're still growing, growing, growing, and everyone keeps making comments that you're looking more like a toddler and less like an infant. How fast you're growing up! We got your official stats at your six-month pediatrician appointment: 15 lb., 4 oz. (20th percentile), 27 in. (68th percentile), and a head circumference of 44 cm (56th percentile).
Speaking of doctors, this month you had your first trip to the doctor for something other than your normal check-up. This week, you were pretty fussy and seemed uncomfortable, so we took you in thinking it was an ear infection. Turns out it wasn't and you might have gotten a little virus, but you seem to be on the mend now, thank goodness.

You still love your toes. They are truly fascinating (and tasty, apparently).
And you still love your walks. This week, you got a new ride, too. Your Peg-Perego is great when we need something smaller than the jogging stroller, and you seem to like it just fine. Today, you went on your first jog with Daddy, and you loved it.
This month, we introduced several new solids, including avocado, bananas, and applesauce. So far, you've loved them all, though I think bananas might be your favorite. You are a very messy eater, and you love to try to "guide" the spoon into your mouth and then chew on it like a teether.
You'd prefer to wear nothing but your diaper if we let you (and every so often, we do).
You're digging your new shades. :)
With the lovely weather we've been having, you've gotten out a lot lately, and we've had several chances to hang out with friends. At Pigs and Pints, you got to hang out with your friend Gus while Mommy and Daddy saw Annie, Simon, Buddy, Bridget, and Chris.
At Food Truck Friday, you had fun hanging out on the blanket (you love being outside after all) while Mommy and Daddy had some great food and visited with Becky and John.

You're getting better at falling asleep while we're out, which is a huge help, so we don't have to rush home to get your nap in your crib.
You love your exersaucer even more this month, and pictures of you in it are usually a blur because you don't stop bouncing!
You've been spending more time on the tummy time quilt Mommy made you, though you mostly like to chew on the "window" fabric. You still like to hang out on your play mats, too.
You continued to do great at restaurants, and you're usually happy to sit and watch everything and everyone around you while Mommy and Daddy eat. You love flirting with strangers.
After seeking some space last month, you've switched back to being super snuggly this month, which we don't mind in the slightest.
You love to dance with Mommy and Daddy, slow dancing in the morning and faster later in the day.
The weather hasn't been all good, and this month, you experienced your first big storm, with tornado sirens and lots of hail. We spent a little time down in the basement, where you got to visit with our neighbor and friend (and your sometimes babysitter), Jill. You didn't seem to think it was any big deal.
You're working on sitting up on your own, and you're starting to get very good. You can usually go a minute or more before you start to get shaky, and we don't think it'll be long before you can really do it on your own.
You still LOVE bath time. It's usually a great prelude to bedtime.
Daddy ran the St. Louis half marathon, and you went to cheer him on at the finish.
Your sports teams aren't doing so well this month, as both the Mavericks and the Sharks lost in the first round of the playoffs (and the Stars didn't even make it in), but your Rangers are hot, hot, hot!
It's been a big month!
Beckett, you're better than anything we could have imagined, and we love you so much!
